Scripture

“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves the crushed in spirit.”
— Psalm 34:18 (NRSV)

Reflection

There is a quiet temptation to believe that you must become better before you can draw near to God.

That you must fix what is broken.

That you must become stronger.

That you must become worthy.

But Scripture tells a different story.

“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted.”

Not distant. Not waiting. Near.

God does not wait for your perfection. He meets you in your present reality, in your questions, your weariness, your uncertainty, and your hope. There is no version of you that exists outside His reach.

Lent is not a season to hide your brokenness. It is a season to bring it gently into His presence.

You do not need to arrive whole.

You only need to arrive.

Reflection Question

Where in your life do you feel most fragile right now, and can you allow yourself to believe that God is present there?
