Scripture

“Let us test and examine our ways, and return to the Lord.”
— Lamentations 3:40 (NRSV)

Reflection

Honesty requires courage.

It is easier to remain distracted than to look closely at our lives. Easier to remain busy than to ask difficult questions. Yet Scripture invites us into gentle examination not to condemn ourselves, but to return.

“Let us test and examine our ways.”

This is not an invitation to judge ourselves harsly. It is an invitation to truth.

God does not ask you to examine yourself so that He may reject you. He invites you to examine yourself so that He may restore you.

Nothing you discover will surprise Him. Nothing you uncover will cause Him to withdraw.

Truth is not something to fear. It is something that sets you free.

Reflection Question

What truth about your life have you been avoiding, and what might change if you allowed yourself to see it clearly?
